In 1974, my father started a small factory in Higashi-Osaka City, a town famous for manufacturing, where he dealt with electronic devices.
I was always surrounded by industrial product parts and played with them as toys.

After graduating from the College of Arts in Kyoto in 1994, I started to help my father's business. At that time, I rediscovered the beauty of industrial product parts and wondered if I could create something with them, which led to the start of TEFTART.
Since then, we have been transforming various materials into Robot motif works of art.

We discovered "pen blank," a material used for the body of fountain pens and ballpoint pens, as one of our production materials and were fascinated by its potential, leading to the creation of new concept works.
We do everything by hand, from cutting pen blanks, polishing work, drilling holes, and assembling the parts.

All TEFTART pieces are indeed one-off pieces.
